GUIDELINES FOR YOGA STUDENTS

We offer the following suggestions to our yoga students in order that each one has a positive experience with yoga:

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows your body to more unrestricted.
  • Bare feet are essential; so don't wear tights or stockings that cover the feet.
  • We encourage you to buy your own sticky mat and eye bags if you wish to use them in class. This is for reasons of cleanliness. They are difficult to keep clean for general use.
  • Please leave your personal belongings in your car or in the dressing rooms. This keeps the yoga room uncluttered.
  • Don’t interrupt class during relaxation. If you need to leave class early, leave before relaxation starts. If you must leave during relaxation, please leave quietly.
  • Avoid wearing heavy perfume or cologne. Some people are allergic to their smell.
  • Don't hesitate to ask for help if a yoga pose hurts or if you have any questions about how to do a pose correctly.
  • Tell your instructor if you have limitations or concerns about your health.
  • Individual assessment by Dr. Kari Rollins is recommended if you have health problems. To make an appointment with Dr. Rollins, call the Wellness Center.
  • Inverted poses should not be done by women during their menstrual period, by people who have hypertension, or if you have glaucoma.
